In just a week i had the opportunity to meet two guys traveling along or close to the amazing Silk road that connected east and west back in the days.
Suddenly it seems that my city became the hub of adventurers passing by on the way to somewhere far away.
Couchsurfing.org is one modern way to connect people around the world as the travelers did on the Silk road 2000 thousands year ago.
The Silk road did pass through Iraq and Kurdistan and i think also through Sulemaniya.
First did Pollen from France appear. He was on the way from Vietnam to France by land. Exploring,, meeting cultures and to learn more about himself was his aims with this huge travel. We just met an evening together with some of our students. It was great
Than two days later another couchsurfer came along.
Fabian from Germany. And he came on his bike!! He was on the way from Germany to India, biking. Amazing adventure. He stayed in my home some days. You can follow his ride at
